Protecting High-Tech Devices In The Classroom

Technology is now a part of every core learning plan. Here are ways to keep your iPads and laptops safe.

Many teachers support technology initiatives — but without proper security measures in place, those high-tech gadgets run the risk of being misplaced or stolen. One painful example from last year: about 300 iPads and several laptops worth more more than $100,000 were stolen from Chicago’s Nicholson STEM Academy.


Stolen technology is more than an inconvenience. It also results in lost teaching hours and extra expenditure for the school. And depending on the level of cybersecurity or anti-theft tracking software installed, breaches can be a nightmare when it comes to exposing personal data.
